How To Be Young At Heart



If there is one age we all want to go back and relive, it would most probably be our childhood. Its reason is quite obvious when we were kids we were so innocent. We were in our own small world of playing, exploring things on our own. Unaware of what grown up people have to deal with. Childhood can be called as golden time of life. As we grow,  we are subjected to the ways and means of living in the world. Over a period of years we follow a cycle of getting education, good job, marriage, kids and cycle repeats again.

As our age grows we feel we are getting older. We feel we can’t do work as efficiently as we use to do when we were young. No doubt childhood is great period of life, as we can’t bring it back. We must learn to be happy with what age we have.  It has been well said that age is just a number not a state of mind or a reason for any particular type of behavior. Here are listed a few ways to believe that to be young at heart is what matters most than your age.

Feeling younger leads to better health


When people feel that they are old, they tend to abandon physical exercises which they feel may be difficult. When people feel younger they are more likely to take up physically challenging exercises, which in turn helps in improving their health.  To prove this we have the World’s oldest marathon runner who is an Indian named fauja singh. He has beaten number of records in number of age brackets.

Keep learning


Try new things, discover new ideas, and develop new skills. Who knows you might discover some skills you never knew about you could do. All these habits of discovering new things keep us active in our lives.

Live in present


By bringing your attention to present moments, you are more certain to enjoy moments. In this way we can appreciate what we have presently rather than regretting about what happened in past or what’s in store for future.  

Commit to hobby


By committing to hobby we love such as gardening, dancing, singing, reading etc., keeps us active. It certainly keeps our mind and health good.

Add meaning to life


Mostly our focus is on our pleasures and pain. It’s good but with age we must increase our area of focus. This can be done by connecting with people close to us or helping to improve the lives of others.

Sharing is caring


With age comes the wisdom. All those years of experience with knowledge that we acquired, if they can be of help to someone wouldn’t it be amazing. Sharing your knowledge with people which can improve their lives is something which makes us feel satisfied.

Travelling


What you will take with you when you will leave this world. Memories I guess. One way to get those memories is travelling to new places. Travelling allows our mind to become more open. We can see things from new perspective. It not only refreshes our mind but also makes us to feel refreshed. Age should not be an excuse to travelling.

By following above mentioned ways we can always be young at heart no matter how old we are. Remember if we don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. Every birthday we celebrate should be celebrated with feeling that it has just added another number to our age and it has given us so many other reasons to be feel younger at heart too.
