Plants You Must Have In Your Garden



“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow” a quote by actress Audrey Hepburn. Plants are an integral part of our life. They provide us with oxygen which is essential for human life. They are source of food and also help to cure many diseases. They have many benefits on human health. Each one of us must grow plant.

I remember long time back we used to have garden in front of our house. We used to grow so many vegetables and fruits. Now we see most of the people live in apartments, they can’t have their own garden. But still they can get pots and grow plants in them. Although there are many different types of plants which can be grown, I will be telling the plants that you can grow easily and have many benefits. So let’s get started.

Aloe vera

It is a plant which requires little to no maintenance. It is beneficial not only for skin but it also helps to absorb the toxic gases in the air. If planted inside home it keeps the home cool. Having aloe vera juice helps in liver related problems.

Money Plant

This plant can be grown in soil or in water. It purifies the air polluted with chemicals from synthetic paints and carpets. It also produces more oxygen at night unlike other plants that produce carbon dioxide at night.

Basil

In Indian households Basil or Tulsi is considered a sacred plant. It is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant in nature. It also releases oxygen. It keeps the environment free of infections. It can be used to treat common cold and cough.

Areca palm

This plant requires less water and indirect light from window. This plant should be not exposed to direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can cause leafs to turn yellow. It can grow as tall as 7 feet indoors. It helps in filtering xylene and toluene from air. It acts as humidifier also.

Spider plant

It is a decorative plant which is easy to grow. It is air purifying plant. It absorbs the toxic carbon monoxide from the air. Adding these plants to office and home helps to reduce symptoms of headache, fatigue, cough and cold.

Snake plant

This plant can be grown with less water and low indirect light. This can be added to bedroom as it’ is known to absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen during night. It acts as a great air purifier.

Bamboo palm

This plant can be added to home or office. It grows well with bright light and can also grow with low light provided it is watered well. It helps in clearing formaldehyde and benzene released from new furniture.

Mint

It is one of the best herbs that can be grown indoors in pot. It has many benefits for e.x it helps in digestion, improves oral health. It is a natural insect and bugs repellent. It relieves from fatigue. It clears nose, lung, throat congestion.
