Foods To Keep You Cool This Summer



With the beginning of holidays in schools, starts the summer season.  In this season to go out for work or any other purpose in hot sun seems like a tedious task. 

Scorching sun takes away all the body energy. We feel dehydrated and tired very easily.  
Though we enjoy all seasons, summer is the one we want to go away early. We feel thirstier and need to continuously keep our body well hydrated. 

So it becomes important to take extra care of ourselves during this season. By eating right food we can protect ourselves from effects of summer. If you like drinking more fluids during summer I would recommend try some natural drinks.

Here I am listing some foods which we must include in in our diet to prevent the effects of hot climate and keep ourselves cool.

1. Watermelon

With around 90% of water content, watermelon helps to keep the body well hydrated. It is an excellent source of antioxidants which protect our body cells from diseases.

2. Muskmelon

High water content in muskmelon helps to keep body hydrated. People suffering from constipation must try having this fruit as it is rich in fiber and helps to regulate bowls and enhances digestion. It also helps to regulate the blood pressure level.

3. Cucumber

Cucumber is rich in fiber, low in calories, fat and cholesterol. It is a perfect salad element. It helps to relieve from constipation. High water content cleanses the body by removing toxic and waste material. It helps to main blood pressure and keeps heart in good health. It also helps to relax nerves and muscles.

4. Curd

Curd gives cooling, soothing, nutritious effect to the body. It helps to improve digestion. Good bacteria in curd help to boosts the body’s immunity. Consuming curd also reduces the risk of heart diseases.

5. Coconut water

Drinking coconut water helps to keep body hydrated. It prevents body from infections and boosts immunity. It prevents indigestion and constipation. It also maintains cholesterol level and blood pressure.

6. Lemon water

Having lemon juice after meal helps to keep indigestion and constipation away. It is also effective in reducing high blood pressure. It helps to flush out toxins from body.

7. Mint

These vegetables have cooling effect on body. They help in controlling blood pressure and blood sugar. They help in digestion and preventing other stomach related problems.

9. Onions

Eating onions during summers helps to keep infections and diseases away. It releases juices which helps in digestion. It also helps to maintain cholesterol level.

10. Aam panna

It is an Indian drink made from raw mangoes, sugar and spices. It helps to prevent loss of sodium from body because of excessive sweating.
